HOW TO INSTALL THE GUTTER COVER GUTTER GUARD SYSTEM

PREPERATION

  1. Rainwater Tank - Divert inlet water from tank
  2. Remove all debris and clean Gutter
    • Use water and nylon bristle brush
    • Flush gutters and check downpipes are clear
  3. Clean Roof surface and gutter lip
    • Remove loose or flaky paint
    • Remove any oxidation, dirt
    • Use water and nylon bristle brush
    • Heavy oxidation or soiling, use stainless steel scourer

INSTALLATION
If possible carry out installation from the roof. Otherwise use trestle and plank or free standing ladder.
DO NOT LEAN LADDER AGAINST GUTTER!

  1. GUTTER LIP - Peel and stick the Gutter Cover firmly into place to gutter lip. Move to the roof side
  2. SCISSOR CUT - Peel backing tape away slowly and in alignment with each ridge of the roofing material place a scissor cut . Your scissor cut should be at least 2" or 60mm. NB: The flatter the roof the longer the cut.
  3. FIX TO ROOF - Carefully fold and place the Gutter Cover so that it fits into bottom centre of each trough and then firmly press into place. DO NOT PULL OR STRETCH TIGHT

TO FINISH OFF:

  1. Seal joins, barge ends, valley laps and corners sparingly with Roof and Gutter sealant
  2. Apply a small dob of Roof and Gutter sealant at each gutter bracket to both sides of Gutter Cover.
  3. CHECK FOR STRESS POINTS. Where the Gutter Cover adhesive tapes have gone over external gutter brackets or joins in the guttering. If stressed place a knife cut to the tape only at the points of stress.

PROCEDURE FOR VALLEYS

  1. Rool out Gutter Cover down the length of valley. Do not cut off yet.
  2. Equidistant each side of the valley. Peel one side at a time following the contours of the roofing.
  3. Do not pull tight. Gently feed the adhesive tape into place.
  4. Stress points will appear and will need to be cut with a knife.
  5. A small dob of Roof and Gutter sealant applied each 500mm on both sides of the valley will keep Gutter Cover in check.

POROUS SURFACES
If the surface is not smooth it will require sealing before Gutter Cover is fixed into place. e.g. Old Tiles, Fibro, Decrobond. This is simply done as follows:- Before sticking the Gutter Cover to the roof surface, fold back the fixing tape and apply a thin bead of Roof and Gutter sealant to the tape. Then fit to roof troughs or pans as normal. The sealant will bond into the roof surface holding the Gutter Cover fast.
